Anyone here like to golf?

We should get a weekly golf event going!

I'm obsessed with golf again and would love to get a nice golf event going once a week. Maybe every other week or whatever would work for anyone who is interested.

I'm open to pretty much any course, groups of four, can always have multiple groups... Let me know who would be interested and what course would accomodate you!

Doesn't mean you can't come up once a month! I haven't played seriously in 6 years, and I'm already shooting in the 80s!

I think you're asking to play with the wrong people if that's the case. :) If I'm under 100 I'm happy.

Re: Anyone here like to golf?

Depends, if you give yourself one mulligan every hole, don't count drops if you lose a ball, shooting in the 80's isn't quite as difficult. I've learned that just spouting off scores doesn't really mean all that much because some people don't really play by the right rules.

Like it matters though. We just go, rent carts, get drunk, and have fun!

Then what's the point? I don't reset the rack every time I don't get a strike in bowling and average 190+. :)

I just got a brand new set of tight lies so I'd totally be down for this. I'm not very good either but I have a great time anyways.

haah sweet, yea I've only even unwrapped the sand wedge and pitching wedge. I just played the birdie course at eagle lake the other day. Maybe I'll swing out this sunday and play somewhere. Anybody down?

I agree fully. I don't ever take mulligans, and I count every ball drop as a stroke. But I often find that someone that I was golfing with who wasn't having a very good day, ends up with a better "score" on their card then I do. Nothing better then lieing to yourself!!

I love playing and probably average around a 100. I play fair ball though, maybe one mulligan per game and a foot kick or two, that's it.

Re: Anyone here like to golf?

^That's the way to play. I do whatever makes it most fun, while not cheating the day away. I hate being over competitive, but at the same time I like keeping an accurate score.

Re: Anyone here like to golf?

I am usually in the 90-100 area. I just got a new driver this winter, so I want to try it out! We have a great course up in Ham Lake (Hidden Haven), but that is pretty far north. Where is everyone else at?

You guys with the tight lies, I have their main competition, I got the Wilson Deep Red set last year. We'll have to switch up a few clubs and see which we like better!

Allan, Swanny and I have played a few times over the past couple weeks. We follow the rules with drops, puts and all, just limit the strokes per hole to 9 so we can keep a move on if things go awry for any of us.

Re: Anyone here like to golf?

Lol, I could care less if you shoot in the 70s, 80s, 90s, or 100s as long as you go out there and have a good time. I mean I don't shoot in the 80s everytime I play, and when I do its usually the high 80s.

I just like to go drink a few beers and not take it too seriously, after all I just play for fun.

I don't take mulligans, not even if I top it on the first hole. I count every stroke even if I miss a two foot putt. I mean if you cheat your score how are you going to ever see improvement?
