Do the Dew?

I just wanted to say that I really love Mt. Dew. Whomever came up with it needs nothing, as they are obviously millionaires. I will give them a high five or perhaps a fist bump if I should ever meet them. I stopped drinking pop for almost two years, and when I first drank mt. dew again, it was so sweet and powerful, I could not drink more than a few sips. Thank goodness I have come back into the light!

To quote wikipedia:
" The main formula was invented in Marion, Virginia, named and first marketed in Johnson City, Tennessee and Knoxville, Tennessee in 1948, then by the Minges family in Fayetteville, North Carolina and across the United States in 1964. When removed from its characteristic green bottle, Mountain Dew is bright yellow-green and semi-opaque.

As of 2006, Mountain Dew was the fourth-best-selling carbonated soft drink in the United States, behind only Coca-Cola Classic, Pepsi-Cola, and Diet Coke. Diet Mountain Dew ranked ninth in sales in the same year."

All I gotta say is FUK Diet Coke, and FUK Diet Mt. Dew, GROSS!

Also, did you know:
"Only two non-Pepsi franchises exist in the United States for the production of Mountain Dew. At the time of Mountain Dew’s acquisition by Pepsi, there were 56 franchise agreements, only 16 of which were not held by a Pepsi bottler. The two remaining agreements are permanent; however, the size of their territories are believed to be small enough to make them insignificant to Pepsi.

* West Jefferson Dr Pepper (WJDP) of West Jefferson, NC. The company does not ship outside its contracted territory, however several Web sites sell the product at a premium price. The premium price can be justified by the fact that WJDP is the last bottler in the U.S. to produce Mountain Dew with cane sugar (instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup, or HFCS). WJDP is notable for producing all their non-diet products with cane sugar, most of which are Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages (formerly Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc.) products.
* RC Cola Bottling of Winchester, Winchester, VA. The company produces Mountain Dew, but uses High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) like all Pepsi bottlers."

Has anyone ever tried these other blends of Dew? I think I shall have to try and get me some.

Re: Do the Dew?

I'm pissed. I don't really drink much pop because I was once told that carbonation kills something in your blood and overall isn't super great for your body. Well I went searching for this information and all I found was that carbonation itself isn't harmful at all, it's the large amount of sugar and whatnot that is bad for you. Dangit looks like I'm an idiot.

Soda is terrible for you and is only good for mixed drinks. Save money, drink water or beer. If you have a can of pop every day for a year you will gain 15 pounds and ruin your teeth.

Re: Do the Dew?

Yeah, it is really bad for you and when I quit drinking it I drop 5-10 lbs within a week. Its so delicious though :D

Re: Do the Dew?

I do the dew, but not very often. Pop is just too bad for me, so I stick with water. I hate the gritty after taste that most pop gives your mouth as well.

How about the feeling when your really thirsty and guzzel a can of dew and still feel as thirst as you were before you drank it.

I love Mt. Dew, but I can't drink it because I take one giant sip, then another giant sip, then I take a third giant sip and it is gone... My thirst not even quenched.

Re: Do the Dew?

I mainly stick to water or beer. Coffee in the mornings, but I try to skip it when I can. When I drink pop, Barqs Root Beer, Mt.DEW and sprite are my normal choices.

Re: Do the Dew?

I love it, I first had a ronny and amped engergy and then have moved onto captain and mtn. dew... if you want a good tasting drink 2-3 shots per can. If you want to get drunk a little more, and it still tastes good.
