i have a blown turbo that i posted about before.... no oil i suppose will do that....
ok my questions.... i heard one of two things will happen... the turbo will lock up or the seals will blow... is this all that can or will happen? my turbo still spools but with even fixing the oil problem what problems am i likely to see until i can get a new turbo? |
If you do not have the money, keep driving it. If it is not siezed up, you will not be pushing as much power. Ghettostyles t25 was what I considered to be blown. Still boosted fine, just had alot of shaft play. If it spins and you are feeding it oil, it is all good. Just make sure that is in not burning oil at all.

when and if it starts to burn oil.... then what? stop driving until can be replaced? keep feeding the damn demon oil?
|
Your choice... it may blow oil and you may have to add it often. When I bought my car the stock 14B was shot. It didnt spin at all. You could rotate it with alot of force heh... But the car still drove fine. You just dont have boost.
Just replace it whenever is possible. |
ah.... un otra question.... whenever i put my car back together.... what's a normal type tool that i can use for the tensioner..... i can't seem to find the tensioner tool for the timing belt around my place here.. any help appreciated

Just out of curiosity, does the oil feed for the head come before or after the oil feed for the turbo on the DSMs? (I would know the answer but not owning a DSM doesn't really help the cause....)
I think that on the 3S's that the oil feed for at least one of the turbos is before the oil feed for the head so you can easily starve the top side of your engine of oil if your turbo starts pushing oil through it. |
double post, whoops
