exhaust decisions..
I'm in need of either an entire new exhaust or just replace the can for my 2g GSX, but I'm not sure which to do. I currently have an Apexi N1 catback exhaust and a stock downpipe, but there are two things wrong. 1) The N1 is rusted (along with the bolts) and 2) the can for the N1 rusted from the back so there's a hole in the can and all the insulation has fallen out. I don't have much money right now but I need to get it fixed in some way, because I'm going deaf inside there and everything is starting to rattle and fall apart. So what would you recommend:
1) replace just the can and weld a new can onto the rusted N1 pipe? 2) replace the entire catback? 3) replace the whole exhaust? Obviously the first option would be the cheapest, but I don't know how I feel about welding a new can to a rusted pipe. I could probably sand down the pipe a bit, but I don't know how badly rusted it is. What do you guys think? |
Re: exhaust decisions..
Save and get a new exhaust, I hated my apexi on my 2G, perhaps a buschur...otherwise there's a place up north (forest lake I think?) called bee line exhaust, they do cheap custom stuff. See what they'll do for $300 for ya ;)

Re: exhaust decisions..
Do the entire turboback exhaust. If you want to keep things cheap buy a whole system from eBay.
