92 Jeep Wrangler YJ

Yes I know its not a mitsu, but until I find another one I got this to work on.

Its a 92 YJ wrangler, 4wd, 5 speed, and the 4.0 I6 with 79,000 miles. It's 100% stock and I was looking at doing a lift or something. Does anyone have experience with wranglers so I can get ideas on what to do? I know I would like to get it up a little at least but not sure on the best way to do that.

so if I can figure stuff out i'm hoping to get a small lift, fix the rust, bigger tires, throw the system from the talon in there and then maybe repaint it depending on how much time is left this summer.

Oh and does anyone know how to change the square headlights for the round jeep headlights?? I would prefer those if I paint it

well I've been looking over thing to do to this thing and have a decent set up put together I feel.

I found out that a spring over axle set up is the best way to go for about 5" of lift... if anyone feels I should stay spring under axle or do a coil kit let me know please... this will be a daily driver/weekend offroader and I have NO experiece with jeeps.... oh and this is the last step haha

I first need to get my matience done, like new u-joints and things like that, and then want to start on the body.

There are 3 big rust holes that I will get some pictures of but I'm thinking of cutting them open and welding in new metal. Anyone near alex good at welding that would want to make some cash welding in the new stuff?? After that I would like to get that in primer until I have the time/money to paint it all white.... that should look pretty nice IMO.

Then the lift and 33-35" tires depending on the deal that I can find and the hight of the lift I end up going with.

Once I get home this weekend I will post some before pics since it will be a long process to the "after" results. If anyone has reccomendations or suggestions on what to do please give me the input as I want this to be a fun and different project....

maybe a 4G63 swap one day??? :D that would be sweet!!!

Check here: http://mn-jeep.com/forum/ some good information. If you go lift it 5" you may need a new driveshaft depending on length. I really dont know much about the YJ's lil more about XJ's. Best of luck!! Heres a shot of my xj with about 4.5" lift and sitting on 32's.

nice xj!!! so did you have to get extended driveshafts for the 4.5" lift? I've been doing alot of research and am seeing that the slip yoke eliminator and cv extended driveshaft will be the best, meaning the lift will have to wait a little longer...

and 123abc here are a couple of pics. my first project when I get home from school is to fix all this rust... check out the drivers floor pan rust!!!! the rest of the floor pan is perfect though.... the old owner had one rubber floor mat and it was for the driver!!!!

I think it was definatly worth the 2G's which included the new u-joints considering she runs great. I will be needing to do a radiator flush or swap though... there is alot of white build up on the inner fins. (calcium I believe???)

I was able to get by with just the t-case lowering kit. Seems to work ok so far. But, I would like to do the slip yoke elim and get the t-case back up higher. The radiators on these things are great for picking up debris. As is the heater core. I dont know if it is just mine or very common but, seems like it works best if I flush it out fairly often.

Jeep looks good, cant go wrong for the price!!!

Doesn't look too bad. Something different and you can go romp in the mud on the shitty days.
