clutch issues
I have a 91' eagle talon awd im having a problem where when i first start it, it will easily go into gear. Once you engage the clutch it wants to hop as if the clutch wasnt all the way engaged. I replaced the clutch/throw-out bearing about a month ago and the master cylinder is new as of today. Question I have is does anyone have an idea of what it could be? Im afraid it might be a problem with the throw out bearing because im having similar issues as i was when the clutch went out.
One question I have is.. how far should the push rod on the master be screwed into the actual clutch pedal itself? Any help would be appreciated Thanks. -Matt |
Re: clutch issues
What kind of clutch did you put in? It sounds like a clutch disk issue.

Re: clutch issues
OE style 20% better crap clutch lol

Re: clutch issues
*Update* ive got the transmission out now and the throw out bearing still seams to be fine. Going to further inspect the pressure plate ect.

Re: clutch issues
did you check out your slave cylinder???
|
Re: clutch issues
The slave would make it not want to go in gear. This one goes in gear fine, but doesn't grab well when the clutch is let out.

Re: clutch issues
*Update* found the problem, Jet was right the friction disk is destroyed... springs all broke... better write this down, cheap clutches dont work.

Re: clutch issues
what kind of clutch did you have?? im plannin on gettin a new clutch kit pretty soon.

Cheap Carquest clutch lol

Re: clutch issues
i had that problem too many times!!!
i would have suggested that but it was sugested already... just listen for rattling, and if it rattles when you have it in nuetral, and youre off the clutch, disk is scrap!!! good thing the clutch breaks and not the trans though... good thing about those cheap clutches.... |
Re: clutch issues
yeah.. my trans has 180xxx rounds on it and its still going on strong!

Re: clutch issues
ok so im still having some problems... i put a new clutch kit in just this last weekend after finding out the friction disk was destroyed.. (clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing) I also installed a new master cylinder in which i bench bled first, then proceeded to bleed it another time after installation at both points(the master and the slave). Yet i still do not have any pedal pressure and it still wont go in gear? Could it be the slave or am I having other problems?

Re: clutch issues
how is your shift linkage?
does the slave cylinder push out when clutch pedal is depressed? maybe your throw out bearing wasnt installed correctly? did you check out the fork? long shot.... ***maybe you need to adjust clutch pedal??? |
Re: clutch issues
Yeah, first thing to look as is if the slave is moving about 3/4". If it is, then the TOB might not be installed correctly.
