DSMs, hmmm, maybe time to say goodbye?

I don't know about you guys, but they seem to be a dying breed.
I know that i am ready to say bye to mine, only thing is the money, i have my eyes on some other cars that are fun to drive, i was looking at RX7s, but they are too rich for my blood, so now i am looking at miata's i drove one the other day (thanks Sean/xvegancowboyx) and i loved it. I will probably be driving a few more this weekend hopefully.
I am currently working on turning my DSM into a daily, basically put shane/ecoli and steve/goatblower projects together and you have my car, but at an extremely slow rate.
I haven't touched the thing since it started snowing, except to pull the battery out and put it back in now.
:TVsurf: = my brain everyday.

Miatas are fun for about a week until you realize how slow, uncomfortable, and funny looking they are. I've said goodbye many times but keep coming back, after 6 DSM's and 1 Evo I'm still having as much fun now as back when I first got into the game. The $/fun ratio of a turbo Mitsu is pretty tough to beat.

Yeah, we have all been there. If you get a miata, it has to be a mazdaspeed. It had juuust enough power to be acceptable. The handling is awesome too, but don't expect to be able to use it for anything. The trunk is tiny. It should be purely a summer toy car. Get the DSM reliable and you will be happy. The frustration comes from a not/poorly running DSM.

HAHAHAHA Holy sh!t dude I've been thinking about this all day. I want an RX7but i don't have the money. I drove my GS-T to work today, and then I went to get lunch and all of a sudden it wouldn't start LOL. After like an hour it started up like brand new. I was like screw this I'm getting something else, But then about 3 hours later I went back to wanting a 2nd Gen GSX. I Want to leave the DSM behind but I just can't do it.

My dad has a 2000 miata 6spd. Its a fun little go cart. The transmission and handling are pretty amazing.

If you get VTEC make it either a Civic SI, S2000, or NSX.

Get a 1.8t golf, lower it on 20's and put a disco potato on it and done!

Or a volvo with a 5 cylinder turbo engine. BPU+++++ and done.

See how easy this is?

The Miatas can be a hoot on the cheap as well, just add a 14b and some homemade piping and stuff. They handle great right out of the box, have a great tranny, and are a blast in the summer. Winter would suck, spend your extra dough on a cheap winter beater.

Pretty much the route I'm thinking about going. Old 14b, old sidemount and a fmu should make a decent daily driver.

Re: DSMs, hmmm, maybe time to say goodbye?

so i got to do a little more driving tonight and i got to drive my corolla again.
I realized that i just need to get the DSM up and running and everything will be fine, but as far as making a fast car goes, the DSM will not be getting that duty.
Appreciate everyone's helpful words, from what i saw everyone in here will be at the cruise, if i can find time and manage to spend every hour of my spring break working on my car, i will see you there.

Your first post is classic withdrawal. Fix your DSM. Spring is right around the corner and you'll be happy with life when its back on the road, with you at the wheel!
