Is it cool to switch an 1g awd 5speed turbo with the 1g fwd turbo 5speed or the 1g auto????? I'm guessin no auto but what about the fwd?
|
The AWD/FWD swap would be ok, I think the auto ecu might not work so well for idle and coming to a stop. But I could be wrong.

I've never examined an auto ECU, but I would imagine they have different timing maps as well as other differences. As far as FWD/AWD there is no difference(that I have found) other than a resistor soldered on the board(r129 or r130 IIRC) that tells the MCU it's AWD, which seems to only remove the top speed limiter.

the maps for the auto ecu i believe are difference because of the autos comming with smaller injectors.

And your right, fuel maps on a auto ECU are for smaller injectors and a slightly higher fuel pressure. |
auto ecus are completely different than manuals.
The timing maps, boost maps, everything is different. The speed limiter issue is 2g only. you'd be fine switching fwd 1g to awd 1g and back. Galant vr4 and 90 ecus are different as well. |
nite, im planning on upgrading my injectors and going with a MT ECU. Since the cams/timing is a little diff do you think i would absolutley have to change my cams? I heard that are not that much diff, just offer a little more low end at the cost of some high.
