After having a walbro 255hp installed, the gas guage doesn't go any lower than just above a quarter tank no matter how low it is. Anybody know whats wrong because I am sick of figuring out I am low on gas when the light comes on. Today it took 23 bucks to fill 3/4 of a tank.

Either your guage is off... if you messed with those. Or the fuel float deal isnt working properly... You could have bent it or something when the 255 was installed.

Mine ends up slightly different every time I take out the fuel pump assembly.

What would have caused it. Easy to fix?

There is a float on a metal rod that moves up and down at an angle... if you bend it a little its off... so unless you know which way to bend it it wont be perfect.

Im guessing that if you bend it straighter it will be able to float farther down into the tank and show less and less fuel.

The float could be facing the wrong way in the tank and coming down on one of the baffles. Take the sending unit out and look in the tank with a flash light. Put the sending unit back in with the float facing between the baffles.
