MICE!! and throwing a code!
So first off im throwing a code... The check engine light came on right around Christmas. I didnt get around to check it out until just two days ago and it said that it was my Idle Air Control system.. Then it told me that i was at closed loop at all times even when the car was warmed up!!!
First step was I put sea foam in the gas tank. Then I was going to unplug the batt. to reset the ECU and when I opened the hood there was a mouse nest ontop of my engine!!!!!!! WTF! Im not sure if they're still in there somewhere or dead or gone... Just thought that I would let everyone know about that little incident with the mice.. and if anybody has any idea about what i should do about the code im throwing lmk.. |

Re: MICE!! and throwing a code!
It's in closed loop once the car is warmed up to over 51 degrees F and goes into open loop at a certain throttle position point, basically when you floor it. It runs in open loop when it's warming up because the O2 sensor doesn't read right until it gets to a certain temperature.

Re: MICE!! and throwing a code!
As said before, check your wiring harness, and any vaccuum lines. The mouse probably chewed through something.

Re: MICE!! and throwing a code!
You might be getting closed loop and open loop confused.
