Hey cats and kittens. I am making my return to the depths of DSM hell. I bought a beater and decided to rebuild the 92 beast. So, like it or not, you will prolly be seing my posts around this place again. I would just like to say, WELCOME BACK, to myself. :brownnoser:

Didnt you have a really nice stock blue 1G? What happened to that one?

JustROLLIN 02-26-2004 01:45 PM

Yes I still have the blue beast. My buddy runs a Mini storage so he is hooking me up with a 10x30 for like 20bux a month. That is where most of my work will take place. I am currently looking for a good shop to do some of the machine work I will need done. Hmmm, where to find one. ;) Anyway, I plan on doing some basic junk like .020 over, 9:1 pistons, port everything, etc. If anyone wants to lend a hand it would be welcome, or advice for a first time rebuilder.

Why does the engine need rebuilding already?

The engine doesn't "need" rebuilding. But I see it like this, higher compression, stronger rods, balanced crank, bored .040 over, and more boost equals more fun. Plus, I am in school for Auto Service Tech so its good practice. And BTW my engine has 60k+ on it now, not that it matters. :razz2:

Kracka 02-29-2004 02:45 PM

why not just go .010 over? Don't take out more than you need to, you might even be able to get away with just honing it.

Super Bleeder!! 02-29-2004 11:38 PM

yeah, do it cheap, and do it right :)

If it aint broke, then it still works well. And if you make it better, the possibilities are endless. Instead of waiting to skip a tooth, or crank walk, or whatever, build the fuck out of a VERY VERY Clean and internally near flawless car. 6/4 bolt, ran 14.2 near stock (air filter and boost controller). Not a bad place to start...

So the saga begins...

And your money ends.
