How is it a waste? Most of these I've seen built use old diesel turbos that aren't worth putting back in trucks. This is the first I've seen that had an internal wastegate.

Must be a large gas engine turbo or something, I think diesel turbos just run balls out, no wastegate.

They don't have to be big, if you search I'm sure you can find people who have used 14Bs, 16Gs, T25s, etc.
