WTB: 500tq capable single disk clutch
brand new ACT stuff has been taking a big shit on me.
anyone have anything else? |
Re: WTB: 500tq capable single disk clutch
My ACT 2600 with street disk is at it's very very edge at 571whp and 490wtq. Every run at the strip smelled like clutch screaming for mercy.
I may end up just trying a puck disc(hopefully unsprung) with the same PP considering it(street disk) didn't really slip.. just wasn't very happy at those power levels. |
Re: WTB: 500tq capable single disk clutch
I have a new ACT 6 puck disk if you want to try that, used 2600 PP also.

I am going to be in the same boat, and have been looking for options as well. Right now I'm currently looking at the Fidanza clutches as they peaked my curiousity. Their 4.3 clutch in particular.

Re: WTB: 500tq capable single disk clutch
I have a new act sprung 6puck 2600 kit that suffice to say is not working properly. Lets not turn this into a clutch tech thread as all the bases have been covered.
I am looking at clutchnet stuff at the moment. |

Local shops?
Isn't this your territory or at least something you have passed by last year? |

Re: WTB: 500tq capable single disk clutch
I would look into the Fidanza stuff as Brandon recommended or Competition Clutch for higher capacity single disc clutches. We have used the Stage 3/4 CC stuff in several customer cars with great results. We haven't really thrown that kind of power at either of these clutches thus far though.
You could also skip the single disc stuff all together and get a QM twin ;) PM me if you are interested in a price, I think you will be surprised in regards to the pricing on this guy... Chris |
Re: WTB: 500tq capable single disk clutch
PPT or QM....$1k isnt too bad when you consider it includes flywheel, etc. And when you add up the cost of a good clutch ($400-500) plus a chrome moly or aluminum fw ($250-400).....its actually pretty close.
And it has proven to hold up for 8-9sec passes. Jake Montgomery can tell you the difference between the ACTs and his twin-disc. Wiz |
