Gone up in smoke!!!

I really feel for this guy. I hope I never have to go through anything like this.

Garage FIRE

As much time, money and effort I have in my 2g, I feel this guy's pain.

One of the cars they lost.

It doesn't compare, but my neighbors across the street's house burned down about a year ago. He had a rebuilt Mustang in the garage, I can't remember the year, but it was a project he did all by himself.

Fires are devastating.

I don't know why. Fires happen a lot, that guy had a lot of expensive, emotion-bound objects in one place and they all got crispified. I feel sorry, but not very much because I have no idea who that person is. If you lost your joint to a fire I'd be more concerned. Think of it this way, no one died. No matter how much he put into that car, no matter how attatched he was to it, it's a car. he probably would have sold it sometime down the road anyway.

WTH will an 80 year old do with a modified z car? He'll get over it and be ok. Insurance will give him a good chunk.

maybe.. insureance hates paying out for all the parts and I was reading that he had well over 20k on top of the car which is hard to get covered.... my heart dropped when I saw that, I dunno what I would do if that was my stuff

300zx + Lambo + Lotus + 2 Bikes and a shit load of tools = I would be balling my eyes out like him.
The Video was horrible. It totally reminded me of what i felt when my GST was on fire right in front of my eyes, It sucks when you spend a ton of time making it look great to have that happen.

Why would you not have a sprinkler system or some type of security system in there? With all the money he has sitting in that garage, I'd think protecting it would be a pretty good idea...

I think he mentioned that someone took his boat, so it wasn't in there. "I'd rather have it be the Viper than the Z." I can't imagine how much money was sunk into everything in that one garage. If anyone wishes that upon anyone, they can go die.

Re: Gone up in smoke!!!

This kind of happened to my uncle a little bit ago. He had a wood shop that had saws, drills of all type. The building next to it caught on fire and spread to this place. Propane heater was the fault of it... The insurance didn't cover much of because he had to have proof that stuff was in there. Most of it melted. He took pictures of the damage and it looks a lot like what this kid went through where stuff melted to the point where you can't find anything. Then what do you do with the melted stuff?! My uncle still has some pieces out on his farm as lawn ornaments...

I feel sorry for this kid but already it sounds like he has another project lined up so he will get over it.

I am just thinking what would I do if my garage burned down... I would be sad because I stuck a lot of time into some of the cars... However would I buy another eclipse - S-10 or buy something different?...
