M.T. Repair Project Car!

Just got the word that a project car is in the works. My cousin and I will be working on a project car over the winter.

1g GSX. 2.4 Stroker. Everything modded to the hilt. He wants a 6 second car. I think 9's would be realistic.

It will hopefully be running up at BIR by early summer.

I will post more when I get the rest of the details.

Tube frame car? You guys should buy John's car or the one in Winona. He must not have a clue if he thinks he is going to run 6's. That is stupid fast, or is he talking in the 1/8th?

either he is talking 1/8th or he souldn't even be trying to build a racecar.... and honestly, I love dsm's but if you do want a sub 9 sec car, why not start with a better drag platform. (unless going tubframe or building it for an import class... or for a shop car)

I will sell you my red car for cheap, then just buy a top fuel motor and run 4s.

Sounds like some sort of mound or possibly a small mountain? Maybe a butte?

No tube chassis. Why buy one when we already have the car sitting there and the motor on an engine stand. It is more fun to go balls out the hard way. Then when it is all said and done you can say you did something. Instead of just paying for something.

Then he is an idiot for thinking he can get close to 6's and likely won't hit 9's. Let me guess, he has never even had a car in the 12's?

Well, lets see... his daily driver is a twin turbo stealth - motor swap - 411 whp at 16 psi.

Does that count?

Shep has been at this for quite a while and hes at like 7.70 best I think, thinking 6's are even possible on a similar setup is rediculous IMO. Also, 411 hp on a twin turbo V6 that came at 300 stock isnt much to be overly proud of nor does it automatically qualify him to be a good car builder or racer.

That said, good luck with the project, they are always a good time whether it be in the 6's or the 13's.

411hp!! holy crap, you mean he up graded to 16gs, injectors, exhaust, IC, and then some one tuned it.
Thats so much work.
Come on guys that is so close to building a single second DSM, there like the same car one is just bigger.

This year im looking to do -2s in the quarter. Yeah thats not a typo im going to do -2s. All i have to do is get the car up to 88mph and let the flux capacitor do the rest.

Y'all is a bunch of dicks.

No, really its all good. Rip on it all you want. When it comes to cars I know little to almost nothing. That should be obvious. About all I can do is turn a wrench. And if it is anything more than basic there better be someone who knows what their doing standing right next to me.
