Place for cheap plane tickets?
 

JUst wondering if anyone knows of where to find the best deals for tickets. I'm trying to get home for christmas and all it seems that I can only find tickets for aorund 400 online. One of my friends was able to find a deal for 300 to fly to WA and back to norfolk. Lucky. lol Tryed orbitz priceline and a couple others. well thanks for any help!

Well you already tried Orbitz and Priceline, but Yahoo travel/Travelocity is also good sometimes. When searching around, sometimes the airlines sites themselves are the cheapest, it just takes persistence and constant checks of all the sites to find the deals. The discount carriers are a good bet: Sun Country, Frontier, Southwest, etc..

www.cheaptickets.com is usually pretty good. A lot of the time though, once you find the cheaptest flight, go to that airlines website and you can save a few more bucks.

When I went to Hawaii I found the cheapest tickets on Northwests web site.

They were about $300-400 cheaper than travelocity and the like.

+1 for Northwest's site. The last time I went to Tahoe it was the cheapest I found. Our options were either Reno, NV or Sacramento, CA and drive from either, we chose Sacramento and saved a TON of money.

Previous luck has been had with Orbitz and Hotwire, but they are very hit and miss.

Kayak.com is another good one. It does all the searching for you and then tells you where to buy them. You don't actually buy the tickets from Kayak.

Crap, good call. Thats what I have been using for the last year or so, I knew I was forgetting one of the travel sites.

In the few weeks I have purchased tickets to D.C. and Hanover, Germany; NWA's website was always the cheapest.
