Knock Question
When driving my car and producing little or any boost my first gear loves to knock around 3-4000 2nd -4th is a little more random but my car loves to do it. My question is, is this because of 92oct not being good enough for my engine or is this a too high of combustion issue? Just wondering, its getting old watching my stock boost gauge bounce and feel my power being robbed with this issue.

Re: Knock Question
It's Steve Wrisky's old car if that helps. It's fully built, it has a mitsu 20g, with about 19-20psi

Re: Knock Question
Yes, but the key question is, do you have DSMlink?
From your description of the fluttering boost gauge i would say yes. If so, fill up your car with 92 that you usually you, go and do some pulls, or get the car to knock every instance, pull a degree of timing until it stops. But you might what to get it tuned. |
Re: Knock Question
Oh yeah sorry I do not have DSMlink, That which I also forgot to mention is this thing still has not been tuned since it has been rebuilt, My piggy-back system is keeping things going. Good idea!

Only first gear?

Re: Knock Question
No clue on fuel management, I have a burned ecu with all the goodies, and its the worst in first and the higher the gear the less it happens.
