have a 1996 eclipse with junk lower end i need a motor right away mechanic is going to have surgury soon and he wont be able to fix car for about 6 months thanx

Do some searching, But I think that the bottom end of a neon wuold work. I know the head is different, but I think the block is the same. I'm more familar with the 1G DSM than the 2G.

the neon bottoms are the same. a buddy has a few 2.0's and a few 2.4's

the junk yards do have this engine but they also want 1000-1800 for them which i think is retarded but i guess i was for getting my brother to get the car in the first place

What about just rebuilding your bottom end since it is going to take six months to get the mechanic to put the engine in your brothers car?
