Need computer help
I know we have a few computer guru's on here. I am having an issue with trying to host a game. The game runs in java and one person hosts, while others play off their computer, through another server.
I went through, did the port forwarding thing for my router and that seems to work ok, but I end up getting errors about every 15 minutes. The port it uses is 3300 and when I use their checker is says this port is NOT open. I have done tons of research and tried a ton of things, but to no avail. I am running windows XP. I am sure there is just a setting somewhere that needs to be changed, I turned the firewall off in windows also. I have also asigned a permanent IP address to my computer and the port forwarding goes to it. When I first started I couldn't host at all, but now it works good for 15-30 minutes, then I get the error. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone had a fix for it! Thanks. |

What game is this?

Re: Need computer help
The game is called TripleA. It is based off the board game Axis and Allies (hence triple A). It is a more complicated version of Risk and a WWII simulation. It is freaking awesome and free to everyone! I used to play Axis and Allies board game when I was a teenager and just stumbled across this a few months ago. If you like strategy games, you will love this!

Re: Need computer help
You could try putting your computer in the DMZ during game play and or to see if it is a firewall/NAT issue.

Re: Need computer help
I have DMZ turned on in the router, is there anything I have to do to the computer? I have all the firewalls turned off for troubleshooting.

Re: Need computer help
I fuck'n love A&A! We have two of the board games here.

Re: Need computer help
Dude, go download that game then! It is a direct copy of the board game. Games only take 2-3 hours to play instead of 10+!
