Well, I'm ready to leave the U.S. for a while. (Well a couple weeks anyway). I'm going to start planning a trip to New Zealand for the spring of 2005. I will be going to check out the land, do some hiking and camping, relax for a couple weeks, and just get away for a while. Oh, and of course to check out the Rally New Zealand. I know it's over a year away, but does anyone want to go? :D I figure it will probably cost a few grand for airfare, travel, hotels, soveniers, and whatever else. So I'm going to start saving now, and probably start booking flights and stuff torwards the end of the year. I'm just getting the idea out there now. And if anyone is looking for a little more adventure than running up North to the cabin for the weekend, then they're more than welcome to join me.
p.s. They have Skyline GT-R's and Silvias in New Zealand. :D |

Depending on how much of my internship money I blow this summer/fall, I would be very interested in going maybe as a Spring break trip for '05.

Say Hi to Frodo while your down there.

id go but some round trip tickes are probably going to be 3000-$4000 each. ive been thinking about leaving and doing a year of school in australia

Round trip tickets range from $1,300 - $1,700 round trip. I only checked one site too. I'm sure if I hunted enough, I could find some for less (I checked Expedia). Most of them had a few layovers in Chicago or Dallas or somthing, and they all left from LA for NZ. All the flights were around 27 hours total each way though. I'm guessing that the flight from LA to Aukland would probably be around 18-19 hours or so. It's alot of time in the air, but I plan to stay for about 10-14 days.
I figure (very rough figure) about $500 or so for Hotels, and about $500-$1,000 for everything else. Does anybody know where I can get a passport? |
damn that cheap. i was looking for tickets to australia a few weeks ago and everything was over $3000 even some for 6k. maybe its just cheaper for tickets to NZ
|
Kinko's does passport's...or they used to. :) Hmm, that's alot of money, but hopefully we will be able to save up that much. :D It would kick ass!

I'm planning a trip to New Zeland as well, but perhaps longer then you guys will be staying...
You'd have to remember though, airfare goes in peak seasons and stuff... spring / winter here, summer / fall there... |
