Cheap fuel efficient car
 

Basically looking for an older smaller car, like a 90's civic or something like that. Just needs to be semi-reliable, doesn't need much work, and gets good mileage.

I'd be using it to drive to Des Moines once or twice a month, I'm tired of paying $70 in gas for the round trip, and probably 3/4 of the miles on my Talon the last 2 years are from driving there and back. An older del sol would be sort of fun.

Prefer not to spend over $3k.

I would look at Craigs list, there are a lot of cars for even $500 that would work just fine but spend $1000-1500 and you would have a nice DD beater thing. Or I have a nice 86 CRX si I will let go for $1000 :).

Did you just buy that CRX? Does it work fine?

Runs great, I will use a few pop cans and old hose clamps to patch a few small exhaust leaks, then get a drivers seat at some point, thants it.
