ebay rotors and pads?

Has anybody had any experience using these? I'm not all about shitty ebay parts, but I do know that some ebay brands are legit so I thought I'd see what you guys thought.

Now lets see what happens when your driving with the other guys brake pads.

For something like brakes I'd stay away from ebay in that department. Get some crap ass pad that fades the first time you have to slam on the brakes going 70.
They are metallic pads spend some money and get ceramics so your not the guy rolling around with squeaky brakes

i would never trust something as important as brakes to ebay, not even oem brakes

That's the thing, right now I am the guy with the squeaky breaks haha. I'm looking for a set of aftermarket stock sized rotors, but cant really afford to do $300-$400 for rotors, pads, and ss lines.

Well do the fronts now and the rears later down the road i dunno...
I made the mistake and bought cheap pads and rotors got 5k miles out of them before they warped and squealed like hell... And I dont even drive like a goon

Just go to Brake & Equipment Warehouse in Minneapolis.

www.brakeplace.com

Call them up (contact info on that site) and see what they offer.

Brembo rotors are really cheap, get them and some Axxis Ultimate pads. Good combo and pretty cheap.

I've never heard of that. Their office is closed right now but do they have decent prices?

I want to get drilled brembos with some ceramic pads. There was a thread somewhat on this topic a while back, but it doesn't mention many great places to go. I'll call that brakeplace tomorrow. thanks

Re: ebay rotors and pads?

Don't get drilled rotors, especially cheap ones. They are going to crack on you more than likely. If you are spending more money, then get some power slots. BEW sells Brembo solid rotors pretty cheap.

Re: ebay rotors and pads?

And yes, Brake & Equipment Warehouse has all that shit, usually in stock.

Dont waste the money on slotted/drilled rotors. Some quality blank rotors will give you better performance and cost less.

Just called em and they have like two different rotors in stock. Aimco drilled/slotted rotors for the front for like $120 and some sentric rotors as well.

So you guys really think that something like blank brembos would work well? My other option is to just get my stock rotors resurfaced and get new pads and brake lines.

Re: ebay rotors and pads?

If you have enough material to machine the current ones you could do that. New ones dont cost too much though either. If you dont race and really abuse your brakes I wouldnt worry about spending a whole lot on fancy rotors. Actually, after doing a little research on some open track racing sites I found most people use blank rotors rather than drilled of slotted because the dont crack as often.

Re: ebay rotors and pads?

Drilled rotors crack, period. When they crack, they brake, and it's never good.

I have blank stock rotors on my car and just did Ferodo DS2500 pads and Technifit SS lines. The car stops absolutely amazingly and doesn't seem to fade. Hawk or JET's Axxis suggestion would be a good option too. If you're on a tight budget jsut stick with stock-ish stuff w/ decent pads, you'll be happy.

Re: ebay rotors and pads?

Oh, and in case I didn't make it evident in my first post, don't buy that shit on ebay. $170 for 4 rotors and pads!? I guarantee they are crap. Why would you trust your life as well as anyone that would ever ride in your car (GF, wife, kids, you mom?) to some unknown cheap-ass brand? Brakes are first and foremost safety equipment, remember that.

Just my $.02 :D

Two things every car absolutely has to have. Good brakes and good tires. I wouldnt skimp on either.

I was hoping since ebay fmic's were highly rated that maybe possibly the rotors were too haha. Btw, I have no wife, no kids either (that I know of), and my mom is dead...only kidding

Ebay FMIC's aren't as good as you'd like to think they are :D

And yes, blank brembos are better than most of the drilled crap on the market. By far.
To do better than those you really have to spend some money.
