Evo: Ferodo Brake Pads and SS lines

Well the evo has almost 37k miles on it now & the stock pads were getting awfully thin, so I decided to do some maintenance and add a little extra zing under that middle pedal. I've only bedded them in so far, but I will say that pedal feel is vastly improved by the SS lines, and the combo of them there offers a more significant stopping force once I step on it a bit. I did some ~70-0 stops today in the rain w/ excellent results.

Installation was amazingly easy. I've only done brake pads on more traditional style calipers in the past, where you have to swing up the caliper off of the rotor and then install new ones. It is blatantly obvious that the Brembos are race-bred: swapping pads and bleeding lines is SO EASY! I'd gladly do a pad swap at the track. It probably takes longer to take the wheel off and put it back on than to swap the pads. Just pop two pins through the top of the caliper, ease off the small retainer/anti-squeal shim and then pop out the pads one-at-a-time.

The Brembos on the Evo have 4 pisons up front & 2 in back, and they're arranged opposite each other, so you take out one pad, push the pistons on that side back in, replace the pad, and then do the other side. Very quick and easy.

The lines added time to the project, but they definitely are worth the $$. Total time start to finish was around 5 hours, which includes a lot of extra time bleeding brakes (i.e. scheides is an idiot! :) )

Holy begezus, I gotta say I love my new sunroof-visor-shutting method. The car stops from 80-0 so smoothly and quickly now that it makes me giggle. Love this new setup!
