polishing and shaving valve cover

Hi, first off not sure where to put this so i decided here. Anyways I am shaving all the lines on my valve cover and the 2000 on the vc. So my dielemma is I burnt out the dremel shaving the lines and dont trust the bench top grinder becuase it will eat to much off. Any ideas for the grinding of all the stuff??
Thanks

I used a dremel and when I got close I used a hand file. Thats right a hand file then sand paper. It took a LONG time but it looked good when I was done.

I used an angle grinder and then a random action orbital sander. I was too lazy to really polish it though so I just ran 100 grit sandpaper accross it to give it a brushed look.

I used a bench sander for the lines. Turned out great imo 3 years ago.

That's way too much work. I'd definitely use a vertical mill.
