Where to buy a hooka?

Hey I found this thread on hookas but it didn't really say too many places to buy em. http://dsmstyle.com/forums/showthrea...ighlight=hooka

My question is besides buying hookas at hooka bars and getting way ripped off, I was wondering if the ebay ones were legit or if anybody else knows where to get a cheap hooka and good shisha.

We got ours at The Hideaway in Dinkytown . It was $90 for a 4-hose one. They have more expensive/fancy ones also. The good sheesha is like $13 a can; the medicore ones are like $8-9 a pack. You can get a single hose hookah for like $50 I believe. Coals are $13, a lid is like $20 so teh coal doesn't fall off the top ( highly recommend it becasue it's burnt through lots of carpets and you don't want to grab it when it's hot ). :-)

Aren't the 2+ hose hookas not really as nice as the single hose hookas? Also, how many times will one can last?

^eh thats a little pricey for me. I saw the single and double hookas on ebay for like 60 or 70ish. I was really wondering if the hookas with more than one hose were as good as the single hoses.

The one I use has been fine for a while.

I heard that the hookas with 2 or more hoses are harder to suck cus you loose air from the other hoses or something like that.

$90 for a 4 hose is a very good price. I got mine a few years back for $60, I prefer the single hose kind. Not that hard to pass a hose between a few friends, gives you a break between a few smokes anyway. I'd stick with a single hose, unless you plan on having big parties where tons of people smoke it. Also, don't get a pipe that is stamped metal, go with one that has some mass, they smoke much better. The only thing you'll need to replace from time to time is the hose, after a year of smoking they get a little nasty because they retain some residue from the smoke. Oh, and the bowl, I'd stick with the clay ones that are like the stoneware dishes. My friend got a new porcelain one and it didn't work out well.

$13/can, damn that's spendy. The Holy Land grocery store in NorthEast (central and lowry) has tons of stuff from $6-$10 per 250g. And I got two bags of coals there for $7. They also sell quality hookahs and hoses there for good prices.

I'd advise against buying a hookah online, another friend got one from hookahhub and it smokes like shit. There is no air flow, feels like a huge restriction so you have to suck hard to get any smoke. Like a .5" intake on a car.

Have you compared eBay prices with those at the Chicha Shack?

I haven't been to the chicka shack in a while. All I remember is their prices were pretty high up there.

What? Tobacco? I'd be careful and look for Reviews on business's. My buddy bought a bong on-line and received it in pieces. We got to use the slide though. That was the only thing not shattered.
