Removing shifter arms and clutch issue
Two questions for you guys.
1. I got a new clutch put in, XTD Stage 2. For some reason, the clutch doesn't want to disengage fully. I have an extended slave rod in that I made, and the pedal is adjusted all the way out. The slave is new, and the master cylinder is good still. Could it be that it's adjusted out too far? 2. I have a 90 tranny in my car with 91-94 shifter and linkages. I'm going to swap over the arms on the tranny that use to be on it, my question is how do I remove the arm that selects gears? The one that has a counter pin through it. Do I punch out the pin then pull off the arm? I'm not going to take the tranny out, so any light on this would be super. Another issue that I think is related to the shifter arms is when the car is in nutreul, the wheels still turn when it's up in the air. I push in the clutch, and they still turn. Any help on this is welcome. |

It's a clutch issue, not a shifter issue. When I put an ACT 2600 and new slave cylinder in my Talon, I had to bleed the piss out of it to get 100% of the air out so that it would disengage all the way. Just try bleeding your clutch more and see if it helps.

You have to change those arms from inside the tranny, they don't just pop off.
I agree it's the clutch. Take the extended rod off, adjust the clutch pedal about in the middle, they pull the top inspection rubber cover off the tranny and inspect the clutch disengagement while someone else pushes in the clutch. You should be able to see if you're close and adjust from there. Did ou have the flywheel step machined properly? |

I read in multiple topics at Tuners that you can just swap over the year specific mounting bracket, and the arms and it'll be fine. |
