Trouble with Interface Adapter for iPod for Alpine deck

I have the Alpine Interface Adapter for the iPod with my Alpine head unit, but I'm having some trouble with it. I was replacing my battery today and I accidentally touched the wrench to my strut tower bar when connecting the positive cable. So yea, sparks flew, and I'm wondering maybe if it shorted the iPod controller, because now all it says is "searching," which means it can't find the iPod. But the iPod works perfectly normal on its own, and so does the head unit. So I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these things and know if they have a fuse or something in them that may have blown. It was all working perfectly fine before I changed my battery.

Reset your I Pod and try it again. If that does not work reset your radio by pulling the negative cable off your battery for a minutes.
