Another weekend project...
Well I decided that my car needed a little paint and minor body work so instead of paying for a new paint job I am swapping my entire setup into a 97 spyder chassie that has new paint and has never seen a spec of minnesota salty roads.
I will be swapping over the parts starting this weekend and hopefully the rain hits soon to clear the roads off. It is black with tan leather interior. My plans are to immedately get that light bar that they make for it and eventually do a AWD swap in the next year or 2. Ill post up pictures as the work is done. What does everyone thing of the light bar as seen on this site? http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com...splay/521.html |
Re: Another weekend project...
I like! Kinda takes away from the chick look imo.

Re: Another weekend project...
You SUCK! Have fun with that project tho!

Re: Another weekend project...
Nice looking piece!

Re: Another weekend project...
Can any of the vendors get the light bar in stock at all by chance? Price?

Re: Another weekend project...
Very Mustang or Mercedes SL like. I wonder if it would qualify as a roll bar for NHRA 11.5 to 14.0 specs. The tubing thickness is sufficient, normal rollbars in convertibles look like crap.

Re: Another weekend project...
Ya thats a solid part there. And looks nice too. I was thinking of something else. But eh...looks nice.

Re: Another weekend project...
It doesn't look that bad. I'd rather go for a full out rollbar. Maybe it would look better to me if it were in person and not on a white Spyder.
You couldn't miss with black as the color. Good luck with the project. Can't wait to see it. |
Re: Another weekend project...
Well all of the wiring and conversoin crap is done for the 6 bolt, dsmlink and guages. Now the motor drops in and we should be done sometime sunday afternoon.

Re: Another weekend project...
It reminds me of VW cabriolet's which me and some people I know call "bitch baskets" BUT, if it would be effective in preventing death in a roll over, then I really like it.

Re: Another weekend project...
I got it all finished and everything works but when I go to start the car, the fuel pump kicks on and all but the starter will not go like you are not even trying to start the car. any ideas at all? all plugs are in as well, what can cause no turnover even when the starter is getting power?
|
Re: Another weekend project...
Make sure the CAS is wired correctly. also make sure that you plugged the starter in. I had wired the CAS wrong one time and the power cable for the starter came out of the ring terminal one time.

Re: Another weekend project...
Anyone have any ideas on this problem? My car has power, the starter gets power, the fuel pump turns on when the key is in the starting position but doesnt click on when turned on at first. The fuel pump also doesnt click on when you take off the cas sensor cap and plug it back in. It is a 97 gst spyder with a 6 bolt swap. no burnt out fuses, I have no idea. Anyone have this problem?

Re: Another weekend project...
Anyone???

Re: Another weekend project...
The starter solenoid? if it doesn't even click then you probably don't have the solenoid hooked up.

Re: Another weekend project...
Try tossin in the stock ECU. And remember when you put the 95 ecu in you have to swap the 1 and 4 wires with the 2 and 3 wires. But that doesnt help with the no start. Otherwise double check you hookup the CAS up right. I was sure I did but it was wrong the first time.

Re: Another weekend project...
Check your wiring.
