Dual Bosches?
Anyone run dual bosch pumps? I see twin walbro pumps, but I'd be interested to see dual bosch setups.

Re: Dual Bosches?
Not sure why you'd want two of these. If done properly, two Walbro's will supply enough fuel for 99% of the dsm'rs out there. And you can buy two Walbro's for less then the price of one Bosch. The Bosch pumps are also quite a bit larger then the Walbro's.. making it very hard to fit in a tank if you go that route.
I would follow these rules, first shot, 1 Walbro. If you want one pump and need more, then buy a Bosch. If you need more then one Bosch, then buy two Walbro's. If you need more then two Walbros, then go with two Bosch's or with three Walbro's for even more capability. |
Re: Dual Bosches?
It sounds like you're running a cell. With ethanol and some large injectors, it will probably need two. It's really nice that they're external pumps and they can survive the "negative effects" with running corn. I do not have this setup, but I will be using it - whenever that will be.

Re: Dual Bosches?
I will be running a single -044 this year on a fuel cell and all SS lines. I'll be running E85 and 1600's (weak point will be the SCM61). There is a great thread on NABR about fuel pumps. If a single -044 won't do it for you, then use a 255 as a feeder pump.

Re: Dual Bosches?
I'm running twin Walbros. Nice and clean install and it's actually quieter than my old single Walbro used to be. Since that will support 1000 hp, I'm not sure why you'd go bigger than that. Plus the 044's are inline pumps, so it'd be a lot easier to use any in-tank to feed it, which is a popular setup as well.

Re: Dual Bosches?
On 1g's, people have gotten to fit the 044's in-tank. When I run out of fuel with my 255hp, that is what I plan on doing. If for some god awful reason I manage to max that out, like they said above, a 255 in-tank feeding an external 044 has been showing to flow a ton.
