Problem!!??

So I took my GSX 97, out for the first day so that I could try to street tune a little,I have alot done to it, I started going it ran fine all the way across town. then I sat, let it idle for a bit, then it began to run rough and the check engine light came on and it died. Couldnt get it to start again, it would just rumble and die again. Im thinking it could be a sensor, maybe the o2 or somthin. not sure wondering what you guys might think?????

Were you logging? I assume so since you were tuning. What do the logs say?

I had the same thing happen to my old dsm. All it ended up being was a dead alternator.

yah I was logging, everthing was perfect little rich but otherwise good. Yah I was kinda thinking somthing electrical, the way it happened, it was so abrupt. Cause my check engine light never goes off, only when engine sensors and such start fuckin up. I dont know about the alternator cuz it seems im gettin plenty power. It take a second to start like no fuel coming, then starts, idles good, then goes into a sputter then dies.

the MAF is good checked that. The AFPR is set to 43 psi.

Re: Problem!!??

Clogged injectors, you said it sounded electrical any other thoughts to support that? You mentioned your Check Engine light never goes out unless sensors and F'n up which is weird uselly it's the other way around. I'd go and plug in and read codes.

Re: Problem!!??

Try flooring the throttle while cranking. That will cut the fuel off and clear it out if it is flooded. It could be the coolant temp sensor.

Re: Problem!!??

Your engine needs 3 things to run, fuel spark and compression, if it starts then dies its probably ignition related, transistor pack/coil pack/plugs/wires.

Re: Problem!!??

Im starting to think maybe I jumped my timing. The belt was kinda loose and now that I think of it the last thing I did was rev it a lil before it started acting like shit. But im also goin to check and see if all the spark plugs are sparking. Make sure my coilpack didnt go out. and I would plug in but my obd 2 plug dont work so this is kinda time consuming.

Re: Problem!!??

Why would you even CONSIDER starting the engine with the timing belt "kinda loose"
