XP Screensaver?
I'm wondering if anyone has a way to get the Aquarium screensaver off XP for me? I have XP, but for some reason I don't have that Aquarium screensaver. Just seeing if there's a way. Thanks.

Re: XP Screensaver?
What aquarium screen saver? XP doesn't come with such a thing. All screen savers are .SCR files located in c:\windows\system32 and can usually be used on any Windows computer.

Re: XP Screensaver?
Yea, my gf's comp has it. So do most of the comps at even best buy, running the XP. I checked in the system32 folder. It's a program called "wpgldfsh". When you go to change your screensaver, the program is called aquarium. I just tried burning the wpgldfsh to a cd, but I guess her comp won't allow it.

Re: XP Screensaver?
Just email the file to yourself. It might be an XP Home screensaver because I know it doesn't come with Professional.
EDIT - Did some quit searching, seems that this screensaver comes with Windows Media Center Edition (MCE) and will only work with MCE. There apparently is a way to make the screensaver work in other versions of Windows if you know how to use a hex editor. |

professional is what i have too.

Re: XP Screensaver?
I sent it to myself, and came to find that it only works with XP media edition. Fuck that. I don't see why it doesn't work with XP Professional, but whatever.

Re: XP Screensaver?
I explained why it doesn't work with anything but MCE up above. :)
That screensaver is actually licensed software. Copying it to another computer is technically illegal. |

It comes in MS "Plus". It's an add-on. It also pulls alot of memory that you may not get back fully until you reboot.
