Type S BOV
When I installed my new Intercooler I ran into a few problems. My Greddy Type S Bov was not holding boost. So I then replaced it with a 1g crushed BOV, now my question is... can i fix this BOV and with what size spring? I was told I can only buy RS springs for this now, this will most likely go into my 1g AWD project. Any recommendations for the spring i should order? I looked on the Greddy site and i seriously have no idea what spring would be good.

Re: Type S BOV
The type s should have not problem holding any amount of boost if its properly hooked up, and did you do a boost leak test to find this problem?

Re: Type S BOV
Did you adjust the Greddy BOV? You know it is adjustable right!

Re: Type S BOV
Is it a real Greddy Type-S or an eBay Greddy Type-S?

Re: Type S BOV
it's a greddy type-s and we used a vacuum pressure tester, when we pumped air into it the pressure didn't hold, it decreased pretty quick, we adjusted it and nothing seemed to work, so then i just crushed my 1g BOV off my non-running dsm and threw that on.

Re: Type S BOV
Are both of the springs still in the BOV? Sometimes people will take out the bigger spring inside of them if they are running lower boost levels.

Re: Type S BOV
you more than likely have a riped difram in the bov

Re: Type S BOV
i'll have to tear apart the bov tomrrow and take a look.

Re: Type S BOV
how do you know if you have a ripped difram? and if it is ripped can you still buy to replace it?

Re: Type S BOV
The diaphragm in a Greddy RS bov is black and if there is a hole/tare threw the diaphragm the bov will not work right, you can buy just the diaphragm for a type RS so we might be able to get the type s diaphragm.
