Engine Knock
 

My gas V6 sounds like a diesel at the moment.

My first thought was that the timing needing to be replaced. But it doesn't sound like a timing belt issue.

Any Ideas?

You'll need to diagnose exactly where the noise is coming from. Drain your oil and see if you've got metal flakes or the oil shimmers in the light. You might have a rod bearing about to go.

If it is a hard metallic knock I would agree with Steve. If it is just missing then I would check plugs & wires.

It is a hard knock.

Near as I can tell it is isolated on the back bank.

Rod bearing spins and then the piston starts to hit the head, its sweet.
