OBD II plug problem.
 

97 GSX, The OBD II plug under the steering colum doesnt work. When you plug the OBD into it, it never turns on. Was Wondering if any one can gimme some ideas of what to look for or what to check.

So just to clarify, the car runs fine, but if you plug in and ODBII plug into the port, it will not start? Won't turn over? Please be more specific.

Can you at least pull engine codes and whatnot with the key on?

I think he is saying that the scanner never turns on. Do you have a volt meter? Pin #16 is power and Pin #4 is ground. Put a voltmeter there and see if you got power.

pin 16 and 4 sweet that helps alot, Ill check those cuz my feeling is its not getting power so yah thanks. umm ill keep yah posted.
