they did a 30 minute thing on that a few years ago on the history channel. they spent a SHITON of money attempting to put it out.

Its really weird. I just bought the movie last night and watched it. Could it be super natural powers at work or the powers that be of the goverment cause that town is a gold mine for coal, estimates in the Billions.
