ACL Bearings Question

My '99 motor is all apart due to reringing it and freshing it up with bearings. I was gonna order the ACL "Tri-Metal" bearings from extremepsi. But for the thrust bearings, they only list an Auglide type. Is the Auglide what I'm supposed to order for the thrust bearings?

Thanks for any help.

By the way- 95k miles on the motor and there was only .0025" of crank play. The factory book says .002 to .007 is spec. I was very happy with that.

Re: ACL Bearings Question

If it is a 99 short block there should be thrust washer only in the block and none in the main cap. I would use the ACL race series bearings below are a few links we can sell you a set for a good price, PM Josh.

Re: ACL Bearings Question

Actually the race bearings is the ones I'm going with. These are known as the "Tri-Metal" ones. I'm good to go on what to get for the Rod & Main bearings.

I am just confused on the Thrust bearing. This must only come in an Auglide series from ACL.

Thanks for the links above. I was still confused because they have so many entries under the Mitsu section.

Re: ACL Bearings Question

Just got off the phone with ExtremePSI. There was an error on their website and they don't carry a .010" ACL Race Bearing. ACL makes them but Extreme doesn't stock them. So I just switched my order to both ACL Aluglide series for the Mains & Rod bearing.

I only want something that is as good as the OEM Mitsu bearings that came with the car. So if these Aluglide series meets or exceeds OEM, then I'm fine with it.
