where to tap in for a boost gauge

where is the best place to tap in for the most accurate boost reading, A friend of mine has a wrx and his gauge is before the bov so he was getting higher boost levels than what was getting to the motor. can you tap a port for the hose in the upper ic pipe just befroe the intake and have you gauge work correctly? I have never hooked up a boost gauge before so I'm not sure exactly where it goes etc. I also have the boost hookup for my e-manage so would I just put a t where I am going to tap the gauge in and run a little hose to that too?

thanks
kennny

You could tap it but why, you have plenty of vacum sources off the manifold, most people use the fuel pressure regulator as a vacum source

Your friend with the WRX was getting a different reading because the BOV is on the intercooler, so he had his line tapped before the intercooler and wasn't seeing the pressure drop through said intercooler. Tap anywhere on your upper intercooler pipe, bov line, or any vac line off the intake manifold, they'll all be the same

Just tee off of another vacuum line on the intake manifold like the brake booster.

VFAQ is your friend, use it. Or also the search button, just like on any other forum.

The best place i have found to tap it is the Flamidation valve. It is By FAR the best source for anything vacuum related.
