Greddy Shift Knob

FIRST, I DID do a search for this topic. Came up with nothing.

I am looking into getting the greddy weighted shift knob. I wanted to know which of the two weigh more-the diamond looking one, or the round one. I personally like the round one better, and it's more comfortable on the hands. I tried shane's out last night, and I loved it! Made it shorter, and I could shift much faster, especially from 1st to second, though I think this is because I felt more comfortable and secure about the shift it'self. Anyway, what's everyone's opinions on these? Anyone have one they want to part with?

I love how DSM trannies react to heavy shift knobs. I personally used/liked the "heavy" 2G leather, but I have used the angular GReddy before too and liked it. Check out Skunk2 weighted knobs too, they weigh in around 440g or something like that.

I had a greddy round on for one day and took it off an sold it. I personally did not like the feel of it. I like the stock 2G one better.

and walla..
Enjoy shifting into 2nd gear at 85mph.
Buy a real shift knob, or find one that fits and fill it.
I like my shift knob out of an accord, not heavy, but i like feeling the transmission shifting.

Don't the metal Greddy ones burn your hand in the summer?

I have one off an evo in my car. Just screwed right on like a good oem part would! I love the feel, but not as heavy as I'd like.

I had the weighted leather one as well and switched back over to the stock 2g one. IMO, that one is perfect.

Metal ones do burn your hand, aluminum doesnt get as hot as steel though. I like leather the best.

ive got the greddy angular shift know and i like it alot, its weighted nice, but the only downside is in the summer time it is pretty hot right away, same as for winter except its obviously really cold. no winter beater yet, so im currently dealing with a really cold shift knob every morning.

I cut the tip of a sock off and put it over my knob when I park my S2000 somewhere in the sun on a hot day and it works perfectly. Take sock off and drive away without burning my hand :) In the cold, just leave the sock on for the first few miles (or wear gloves).

That's a pretty good idea. I would do that if I had a metal one.

I like the Small round Greddy Shift Knob. It feels comfortable in my hands. Like S2K, i just had one of those extra 99c a pair gloves that you buy at walmart and stick it on every day in the summer and took it off. Same goes for winter.

I put the stock 2g back on to see how it'd feel again and I hated it. Went back to the greddy.

I was going to just take it off everyday..not like it takes forever for it to come off and on. Plus, it gives the car time to warm up.

I also have the round counter weight and have used the diamond shaped one and the round that I have now weighs more and feels more comfortable, plus it looks better. The coldness does not even bother me nor does the hot yet anyways

I'm probably driving the only DSM with a 3rd gen Maxima knob. It's leather and fits my hand beautifully and doesn't look like a penis. :)
