Riddle
A hiker comes to a fork in the road and doesn't know which way to go to reach his destination. There are two men at the fork, one of whom always tells the truth while the other always lies. The hiker doesn't know which is which, though. He may ask one of the men only one question to find his way. Which man does he ask, and what is the question?

Re: Riddle
Ive heard this one before a long time ago, but it was using more religious figures as the two men (devil vs god, devil always lies)
i totally forgot the answer though I would ask however "How many fingers am i holding up?" |
Re: Riddle
I've heard this before, but can't remember the answer. So here it goes!!
He asks the guy on the right, "Are you the one who'd tell me this is the way to town?" Using town as his destination. If the guy is the one telling the truth, he answers "Yes", or "No" to telling the truth, and to the destination. This works in my mind, but it might not work on paper. I'll see if i'm right before i spend a while explaining how i got my answer. |
Re: Riddle
He would ask one guy if you was the other guy which path you would tell me to take. The liar would tell you that the other guy would tell you to take a spefic path and you take that path. If the guy was the one telling the truth he will tell you the same path and you would take that path. It will result in taking the correct path becuase it forces the liar to tell the truth and the one telling the truth to tell you the truth.

If he knows that one is a liar and one tells the truth I would ask something simple like that. If he just thinks they are both 2 truthful guys I am not sure:confused: |

Lets say the way you want to go is to the right. Well you ask the guy who always lies that question. Now the guy who tells you the the truth would say go right, but since this guy always lies, he'll say "The other guy would tell you to go to the left" Other way around, if it's the guy who always tells the truth, well he knows the other guy would say go left because he'd lie to you. So he's honest and says "The other guy would say go to the left". So you just go the opposite way. |
Re: Riddle
Why cant you just ask how many fingers ur holding up and then o wait... Then you wouldn't know which way still. Haha that's pretty sweet lol.
