1g hesitates at wot higher rpm

i have a 91 tsi i just picked up, its pretty good shape, only thing i notice it hesitates/ bogs a little at wot at higher rpms. it idles a little rough too but im not sure maybe thats kinda normal? it stays pretty steady at 700rpms or so its just a little shakey.

I start with getting new plugs and wires, and then doing a boost-leak check.

What modifications are done to the car?

As mentioned above: plugs, wires, base timing/idle set, boost leak check, fuel filter, check front balance shaft belt(if the motor makes a buzzing noise about 3500-4000rpm) Timing belt/water pump job if you do not know when it was done, and a clutch would help also. The list could go on, welcome to dsms.

like i said i just got the car didnt have time to look it over, sure enough the plugs were shit. it runs pretty good now with some new NGKs, the plugs in there were so worn i think the gap was 2x as big as it should be, spark was probly getting blown out or somthin.

Go BPR7ES plugs, everyone else uses them with great results. Get some wires and try giving it hell again. See if that fixes the problem.
