More Fuel....
Hey everyone,
Well it is coming time to start adding more fuel. I am looking at replacing my rewired 3S fuel pump and going with a 255lph walboro, Replacing all of my fuel rail lines with bigger ones, and putting on the Magnus 1000hp fuel rail as well as AN Fittings, and a Fuel Pressure regulator. (also will be getting a wideband, just trying to recoup after getting royally screwed) The reason for this is because i am havinig serious knock problems above 5000 rpms, and this is the only thing i can think of that would cure it. Current setup: RRE 6Bolt block RRE Stage 2 Head 2G Pistons 8.5:1 HKS Valve Springs Ferrea Valves DSMLink PTE T3/T4 50 Trim Turbo Tial 38mm External Wastegate Ported Exhaust Manifold Front Mount Intercooler Magnus Intake Manifold Custom Piping 2.5 in made by me. :) Greddy Type S BOV 3/S Fuel Pump 680cc Injectors Fidenza Flywheel 3" Turbo Back Exhaust NGK BPR7 Spark Plugs Magnecore Race wires RRE Upper IC Piping ACT 2100 Clutch Tokico Shocks and struts Couple questions A: With increasing the size of the fuel lines, has any one seen this as a problem with the increased mass of fuel? I would think that either way the FPR will hold back the extra fuel. B: Kinda relates to A. The Magnus Fuel rail is pretty big compared to stock, is this overkill for the 680cc injectors, or should i go with bigger injectors. C: Do you think it is worth going to DSMLink V2? Or would it be better to stick with V1 until V3 comes out? (which is hopefully soon, been hearing really good things.) D: What size fuel line should i go with? i have to find out what size my fuel rail is. Also, does anyone have a good source for Braided lines? E: Any other advice? |

B) You don't need the fuel rail, save your money C) Upgrade the dsmlink D) AN06 is plenty E) Tune the car. |
Re: More Fuel....
I would talk to Tom or Dave at DSMlink and get an ETA on V3. It was nice to add anti-lag and a few of the other features in V2, but if V3 is coming out next week it would be a waste. As far as the upgraded lines, the FPR should control everything for you, assuming you don't make the mistake I did and go with a FTSS bolt on lol. And I agree with Josh, save your money on the fuel rail...

Re: More Fuel....
Save money on the fuel rail??? I got it for free with the purchase of my intake manifold from Magnus. :)

Re: More Fuel....
yea! And, I need the fuel rail. I can't say with a 50 trim you will flow enough air to need to match it with a larger, beefier fuel rail like that. Hell, that's quite the over-kill.

Re: More Fuel....
I dont think anyone really needs a fuel rail larger than the stocker.

Re: More Fuel....
I will.....
I'm just pissed that they screwed up my order. Two -8AN fitting rather than the one -10AN and -8AN. The fuel rail wasn't anodized as I asked. And it looks like there might be a pinhole leak in runner #4 to the plenum. Time to call them up on Monday. |
