Weighing my car
Theres this small truck weigh station about 2 blocks from my house across the highway. I kinda want to see the weight of my car. I was wondering what the rules and laws are regarding these. Can i just pull up and get my weight or is there more to it then that.

Re: Weighing my car
so? what cop in his right mind would waist his time trying to figure out an angle to give you a ticket? like i said b4 ask the attendant if your worried, otherwise you can go to a dump and use there scale, there is a place here in st.paul called vaskos, the way it works is you drive yor car onto this platform and there is a big digital display that show you your weaight then some one asks you what your dumping, just say "sorry i forgot my wallet and leave"
thats what i'd do. |
Re: Weighing my car
Find a landscaping yard and drive in there. They should have scales for people buying rock and stuff. Drive on, look at the weight, tell the person in the booth, "Thanks! That's all I needed" then drive off.

Re: Weighing my car
i haven't found one of those landscaping yards around minneapolis yet... all of them are using measurements of yards now for rock and other items...
If you know of one let me know.. i want to weigh all of my vehicles i think my truck is up to 8500# now... :( |
Re: Weighing my car
Accross the RR tracks from MAPerformance. Someone help me with the name. They have a digital read out right next to the platform.

Re: Weighing my car
Public scales are for the public. There may be a small $$$ fee, but otherwise pull up, ask the attendant to weight your car.

Re: Weighing my car
Hey twack,
Just go to this intersection: http://tinyurl.com/yxrd6y In the southeast corner of it is a weigh station. Usually if you go there some late night you can just park your car on the scale and peek in the window and it will tell you your weight. My fat car is scared to get on the scale anymore. |
Re: Weighing my car
There is a scrap yard in Anoka that has their scale on all the time. Just drive on and look at the readout in the window. I usualy go at night. Just take 169 North and keep going straight in Anoka, you will go over some train tracks and it will be on your left.
I see your down south, your best bet is to just go ask when you see someone there or find a recycling or scrap place. |
