England Recommendations
I am going to be spending my Thanksgiving break in England; arriving in London at 9:45AM on 11/19 and flying home at 12:10PM on 11/24. My schedule is pretty, full but I think I am going to have most of the 19th free in London as well as the late afternoon/early evening on the 23rd. Does anyone have any recommendations on things I should try to see?

Re: England Recommendations
There's plenty to see but the most fun I had was sitting down at a pub with the locals and having a pint or two.

Re: England Recommendations
I have a friend who has spent a LOT of time in England and around London. I'll try to get ahold of him and see what he recommends.

Re: England Recommendations
Just go to a bunch of pubs. If you want the real UK experience, just go drink beer and start talking to people. I used to live there (scotland, actually) and that's about all they do!

Re: England Recommendations
I agree with the pubs if you do not do anything else go to the pubs.

Re: England Recommendations
I agree with the pubs thing, if you're into clubbing there's a shitload of good clubs there. The london eye is awesome too if you're into that sort of stuff and the Tower of London is a pretty cool experience.
I was gonna go there again a week ago.... but I had to deal with other shit instead. Round trip tickets are off the hook at $575 round trip after taxes. |
Re: England Recommendations
Be sure to try some of the cider's over there. They are kick ass! They will also kick your ass :D Also, learn how to signal for 2. Putting your hand the american way and holding up 2 fingers is like flicking them off. I found that most of the English don't like americans, but Scottland was great. I had the best time in Edinburough. It would be a bit of a hike from London.

Re: England Recommendations
Don't forget to keep on the lookout for cool cars. England has a lot of cool cars that we never see over here. Older EVOs and FTOs are the cool Mitsus over there that you just don't see in the USA.

Where in London are you going to be? Its not small like the downtown here, its pretty much a day thing to cross london. I say clubs, pubs, and of course a fish and chip shop. How i miss the homeland!!

Re: England Recommendations
Well I'm already spending a fortune and I haven't even left yet; my Thursday night hotel room is going to run me (based on today's exchange rate) $352.79. Damn stuff is expensive over there. Oh well, at least it's a Hilton :D
