That is fucking awesome. That go kart in the swf vid at the end gets up to 50mph. Not insane, but still sweet.

Damn, I bet we could make jet packs with like 5-6 t25s..... so does anyone have any spares? ;)

I have two 14b's
I also have some mad Pro-E skills to get some 3d parts modeled. :D |

A guy had one fired up in the Econodump parking lot at the shootout 3-4 years ago. Kinda geeky, but cool none the less.

Damn, that is one of the coolest things I have ever seen done with an old turbo.

instructables dot com is such a fantastic site.
i did a presentation in one of my engineering courses on that very same topic. :) |
Re: Don't throw away that old T25! Build your own JET engine!
I happen to have a large semi turbo for this very purpose. And an informative book on jet engines. I lack a welder and time. Also, Unless you have a gearbox made, you have to have a battery powered oil pump and fuel pump.
edit: upon further inspection, that dude's flame tube and combustion chamber designs look like they are from 150 years ago. Foyst, He's got horrible flow characteristics, and B, the flametube - lets just say flame holder rings are more betterer. He has a bunch of mumbo jumbo about oil coolers and filters. BAH, I say, BAH! I could make a better turbo-jet engine in my sleep, it would have an afterburner and pulsejet unit as well. That guy = Rank Amature. |
