When you push the gas pedal down.

it kicks in pretty damn quick, i don't know a RPM number off the top of my head, but way quicker then most turbos spool up on dsm's. I swear it feels like the 16g's on those cars spool up like a t25

crap we have the same avatar

anyways, full boost is pretty low because the turbo spools so fast but the boost goes from 19psi at lower rpms to 16 at higher. its something that mitsubithi did to conserve the life of the turbo and the motor. if you want it to stay at 19psi you need to by any boost controller, as long as you dont adjust it it will stay at 19psi. dont turn up past 21 psi or oyu wil hit fuel cut.

I thought I had read in Mitsu's Evo8 brochure that full boost was at about 3900rpm. Could be off, but that's what I recall.

Sorry it's just a guess, but I would think by about 3k or close to it. It's supposed to be a 16g equivalent or so and those spool between 3-3200 rpm's. 3900 is way to high.

1ViciousGSX 02-05-2004 09:57 PM

I was thinking more like 2800-3000rpm.

Halon 02-05-2004 10:00 PM

Its no 16g equivalent. Maybe the flow, but the spool on those things is like a t25. Id say more like 2900 then 3900

definitly not 3900, a 50 trim should spool by then. With any 16g sized turbo you shouldn't have to worry about lag at all. They are too small. Hit the gas and you have boost.

SuperSleeper 02-05-2004 11:50 PM

Here it is: Peak boost at 3500rpm.
