Water Injection

Im thinking about doing a little water injection on my car. I want to do something to it and this is what I came up with. Im going to be making a home made kit. With a 100PSI pump and whatnot. I plan to use washer fluid for the water.
My questions are...
Can it be controlled by my AEM EMS? Like when the boost gets more then 16PSI it will turn on?

Also how much will this actually help my performance?
MODS(when this will be installed):
Built 2.4
20G turbo
650cc injectors
AEM EMS(speed density)
GM boost control solinoid
Greddy FMIC
Tail 38mm WG
Full exhaust
Possibly:
HKS 272 or 280 cams
Magnus Intake Manifold

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Water Injection

Well the water/alky injection will allow you to run more boost/timing on pump gas... so I guess its more of a question of how much more boost/timing can you run? Increase the boost pressure/timing usually results in more power. lol.

Well I have been reading a little about it and what I have come up with is... you can run more boost because the water turns into a gas and steam and helps lower temps and also steam cleans the engine. Ive read that the 100 PSI pump is good to about 28 PSI if im not mistaken. I want to run no more then 25PSI. Will pump gas(92) and water injection take me to the 25PSI mark?

If thats how you want to setup the 'turn-on' point, a simple (ie. cheap) pressure switch will do that. I hear NAPA sells them; I ordered one from coolingmist.

Yah I read a How To on it and they gave part numbers for that stuff but it would be 10X easier if my AEM EMS could control that.

Re: Water Injection

Almost everyone uses methanol injection nowdays(except for some ass backwards 3s guys who still use water injection or propane injection and some supercharged BMW guys that I have come across that still use water). Water injection is old school and I haven't seen better than mediocre results on the dyno with water only injection. You can use a water mix with meth injection. Meth add fuels to your setup, so you can run smaller injectors/fuel pump setup. Meth is high octane and cools the intake charge like nothing else. Cars that run meth as their primary fuel don't even need intercoolers.

You should be able to control any electronic injection system with the AEM EMS. If you have a way to check for sufficient methanol pressure/flow, you can setup the AEM EMS to reduce boost(with a simple solenoid or with AEM EMS boost control) or set it up to add fuel and reduce timing advance.

So would washerfluid (50/50 water/meth) have good results on the dyno. This is gonna be a semi daily driver so I dont wanna go too crazy.

With the AMS part, Would the GM boost control solinoid beable to control what you are talking about?

Re: Water Injection

Not all washerfluid is 50/50, but that is a resonable mixture. Somewhere from 50/50 to 100% methanol.

AMS part? If you had the AEM doing your boost control with the GM boost solenoid, you could have it reduce boost when methanol failed.
