Water Leak from Water Pipe
It's leaking where the water pipe enters the thingy Red circle. Blue circle shows how close the turbo is to the block. It's touching the water return bolt & water pipe even though I banged in the water pipe a bit for the manifold to mount flat.
Does that bolt on the water brace matter since I had to remove it. Where the water pipe enters it's leaking alot. What can I do to tighten it or solve the problem? http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...smproblem1.jpg |
Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
Sorry to bear bad news, but you have to take the turbo back off and take that pipe off. There is an Oring inside that must be shot. Either that or the turbo is still hitting that pipe hard enough to cock that pipe off to one side.

Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
Water pipe had to be pushed closer to the block too. Could this could of been what caused it but it has to be that way for the turbo to fit.

Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
Wow, I can't believe the fitment issues you're having with that thing! it's possible the whole pipe is kinked, making that o-ring leak (like JET said). :(
Maybe you could pull that pipe back and put some RTV around the o-ring to help it seal a little better? |
Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
Can someone that disassembled a 7bolt before come and help me today or tomorrow or sunday.
I get home from work at 5pm today. I'm in St. Paul. PM me I can't offer much for the help but you can drive it when it's running. |

anyone?

Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
If you got that turbo on, taking the water pipe off isn't rocket science.

Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
It's just that an experienced extra hand would be nice since I've been doing this install all by myself.

Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
Instructions:
Turbo off. Take off water pipe. Replace o-ring. Put pipe back on. Put the bolt back in, that keeps that join aligned (as well as into the water pump). Put turbo back on. |
Re: Water Leak from Water Pipe
If the pipe is bent (not crushed, but bent) get a new one. Flatten it in a vise, that way you won't bend the pipe out of alignment again.
