Redline xfer/rear end fluid
What Redline fluids do you use for the Xfer case? 75w/90? For the rear end? I heard it's a mix of Shockproof (which one) and 75w90. My search didn't work, so I had to ask before I order this stuff.

Re: Redline xfer/rear end fluid
I use Shockproof in the rear diff, and the ever so popular mix in the tranny/xfer case. That's what RRE always recommended to me so that's what i've ran ever since.

Re: Redline xfer/rear end fluid
I run heavy shockproof in rear end and T-case.

Re: Redline xfer/rear end fluid
Has anybody seen any bad effects using heavy shockproof in the viscous rear diff?

Re: Redline xfer/rear end fluid
75W-90 is the proper fluid for the rear diff. Unless you are a hardcore track star there is no reason to run the Shockproof (this stuff was not designed to be used as a street fluid).

Re: Redline xfer/rear end fluid
So just change it a little more often, big deal.
It protects like a 75w250 but is as thick as 75w90. It is supposed to have less fling off of the gears and help prevent gear breakage. |

This is a straight 90W gear oil and dominates all 75W-90 lubes in terms of protection; not for winter use though. |

Re: Redline xfer/rear end fluid
I run the heavyduty shockproof in both DSMs in the transfers case and rear diff. The transfer case stuff gets changed when it falls over and leaks out during tranny swaps.

Re: Redline xfer/rear end fluid
So just 100% shockproof, no mix?
