Brownmans top secret!!!!

So my 171.2hp is probably one of the quickest around, not saying much, so after much discussion and other crap, we figured that maybe the car's weight had something to do with it.
I say eat this:

Hopefully that worked, cause i never done that before.
This was done with 1/2 tank of gas. No-one in car, in case anyone cares '02 mustang GT = 3340lbs 3/4 tank of gas
Now what!! I say brownman FTW!!!

3100lbs.

Nice kill.

SQ's are lighter anyway so I have no idea why that was a thought

Did you keep up with Nash? Dyno or no dyno, I doubt your car makes 171whp.

He's a straight lier. ;)

Re: Brownmans top secret!!!!

LOL, u guys rock!!! yeah the car weighed 3280 or so with me in it.
SQ?
We figured just why my car is quick for the power it makes.
I stayed with nash till about top of fourth he was then pulling away from me and my car started to knock and pull timing so i got out of it. But he was starting to pull (key point). However, i think by the time we do this again he will win easy, isn't that right?

So Dyno's lie now huh? we can hit the X button if that makes you feel better?
I know there is a hell of a lotta people that like that button and cry when their numbers are lower than they think it should be.

SQ= Starquest

My theory is that maybe your car wasn't running good on that day that you dyno'd or something. Could be like andy's car where resetting the ECU makes it faster. It's weird, the math doesn't add up, so one of the numbers had to have changed, and it isn't weight, so its gotta be power, or andy's car got heavier and lost power.

I'll end this. Aaron, stop by the shop and we'll toss your car on the rollers. You guys are racing from rolls. Shifting, powerbands, gearing, frontal drag, this can all have an effect. I hope it makes more because on that day I couldn't get it any higher without turning the knock control off. Then it makes 186ish awhp from what I recall.
Most 16g cars I've tuned make low to mid 200's. In the end why does it really matter? His car is faster, knowing it makes power doesn't really change it, make your shit faster. It is not going to be the 300whp or whatever the people think you have. It is a fucking 16g with a motor with shitty compression on pump gas with a sidemount.

3100 isnt all that light. Its about what I'd expect. I think you assume that people say it makes more than it did that day just to keep from looking bad when they lose to you. I dont think thats the case, I think it just makes more. I have seen enough DSMs dyno to know that they are one of the least consistent cars out there from pull to pull.

Yep, thats exactly it. A car that is heavier and makes considerably less power on the same dyno shouldn't pull away from something lighter with more power. Obviously as swanny said, there are other variables, but they shouldn't make up for a nearly 40hp and 100lb disadvantage on brownman's part.

Something just doesn't make sense to me, as well as many other people.

Re: Brownmans top secret!!!!

it could be the powerband, the 16G is known for having one of the most favourable powerbands on 2.0L DSMs, i guess you could be right on with that whole one pull will be different from another.
If swanny ever gets time i will take him up on his offer to throw it on the rollers once.
However soon enough i will have a FMIC on the car, but it would be nice to see what it does now.

So why did my 50trim make mid 200?

It's all a joke, nobody (at least to my knowledge) is really butt hurt about it. It's just something we give aaron shit about, like he is hustling us or something, even though no money or appetizers have been at stake.

That and it doesn't make sense to some of our fragile little minds how a car with so much less horsepower, that weighs more could be faster.

I know for me that this is the main part of this ordeal.
People have dyno'd on the same dyno or at least the same kind and i can still keep up with less power. This car was fun before, but now that it is pissing people off, I love it.
Oh, I like you guys too.

I know that i am not butt hurt from this, this ordeal is hilarious either way you look at it.

I don't think anyone is pissed, we just like giving each other shit.

50 trims don't really start humming until higher boost. Didn't we have an issue where we didn't want to turn it up? I thought we were around 15psi or so on your car....
The most I have seen out of a 16g was 268fwhp at 18psi on a 2g with a fmic. Most awd 16g cars end up around low-mid 200's (240 is the most I believe). Larger turbo dsm's on pump gas tend to make 5-25 more hp at the same boost levels, they really shine at higher psi levels (over 18psi). It just comes down if you have the intercooling and fuel to run that much boost on pump.

No issues that I'm aware of, except some phantom knock. We were at 18psi because I was just going for a street tune on pump gas, and that's the lowest we could go. Next Spring we'll have to do it all over though with the new engine, and some better gas.

Hey! I haven't chimed in here in a while! Did I mention that my car has a flux capacitor and I was actually going back in time when I ran Aaron? Well I was, and that's why I lost. And my car pulls timing on 92 octane or something. But whatever the case may be, I'll go to the dyno day later this month and thump some torque out for your asses.
