Side jobs?
I have done a few side jobs here and there, mostly for the employees I work with. There are a few dsm-ers on this board that have asked me to help them with certain things too. I was wondering, if anyone else needed things done, that they don't want to tackle themselves, like brakes, or suspension etc.
I'm mainly writing this because I don't know anywhere that would hire me to work for them only on sat and or sunday. I want more hours at work, but they can only give me soo many and keep it fair to others. So, what are some suggestions? Just keep looking for side jobs, or what? I could help some company mow lawns on the weekends, or something. Any one have ideas? -A. Swift |
Re: Side jobs?
Don a paper hat and make twisty cones :)
What about Tires Plus, Firestone, or another chain like that? A lot of those places are now open both Sat and Sun, and my guess is those are the least popular shifts with their FT employees. |
Re: Side jobs?
I think having a side job at a tire store would be pretty sweet. It'd be nice to have access to a balancing machine, and a tire mounting machine!

Re: Side jobs?
Well, I already have that access. Plus, I used to work at the tires plus in MG for 2 years. They only hire people who want more hours then that, because it's not worth the paperwork for their payrool or something like that.

Sorry did mean to steal the thread. You might want to look at fast food places or Sears Auto. They don't pay much but you do get paid. |
Re: Side jobs?
A friend of mine manages a group home. The company she works for often has positions open that are weekend only, even just every other Saturday jobs. Something like $11 an hour.

Work at Coca-cola. PT makes 14 starting its anywhere between 16 to 27 hrs friday night and saturday night. After 10hrs its 1.5x and over 12 hrs its 2x.
I work every other weekend. After taxes its anywhere from 220 to 400(bi-weekly paychecks) . |

Re: Side jobs?
Look into automotive detailing, you would need to find the right place that wanted weekend help though.

Re: Side jobs?
I actually kinda want to get back into painting. Perhaps instead of scale things, like r/c cars, I'd rather do the real thing. There are some nice airbrushes on sale for actually a great price through mac tools. I wouldn't do it full time, but as a weekend gig, It may be fun. Paint bodykits, or something ya know?

Re: Side jobs?
Yes, that's true. I dunno, I used to paint those r/c bodies, and sell them at hobbytown, and ebay for like 80 bucks. So, I know there's money there, It's just the stress that follows it. Everyone want's their shit done asap, and no one has patience, when you really can't rush a thing like that.

Re: Side jobs?
Try a parts store like Checker, Red Rooster... or try a movie theater/bowling alley.
